   I keep reaching for Cuir Intense more than I expected to. The base rests on Tobacco and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. That first spray gives a lovely Osmanthus/Ylang-Ylang impression that dries down smoothly. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

The base rests on Tobacco and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A friend passed me a decant of Cuir Intense (2019) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Tobacco and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Osmanthus with Ylang-Ylang peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   A couple of wears in, Cuir Intense has really grown on me. Right away I get mostly Osmanthus alongside Ylang-Ylang, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Osmanthus with a hint of Ylang-Ylang — it grabs attention without being pushy. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

The drydown leans on Tobacco plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
