   I keep reaching for Idylle more than I expected to. That first spray gives a lovely Tincture of Rose/Freesia impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Musk and Patchouli come through and give it real depth. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A decant of Idylle sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: Lily-of-the-Valley and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Musk plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I’ve been wearing Idylle on and off for a few weeks now (2009). The heart is the best part for me: Lily-of-the-Valley and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. The very first sniff is crisp Tincture of Rose with Freesia peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A couple of wears in, Idylle has really grown on me. The opening is built around Tincture of Rose and Freesia — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Tincture of Rose/Freesia impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I’ve been wearing Idylle on and off for a few weeks now (2009). Right away I get mostly Tincture of Rose alongside Freesia, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Musk and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   For a 2009 release, Idylle deserves more attention than it gets. The base rests on Musk and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Tincture of Rose alongside Freesia, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

    My first Guerlain experience was this one, Idylle (2009). The base rests on Musk and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Musk and Patchouli come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. The composition is well made but not for me.
