   A friend passed me a decant of Patchouli Ardent (2020) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Leather and Musk come through and give it real depth. The first minutes are all about Fig with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   A decant of Patchouli Ardent sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Patchouli with Turkish Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. The first minutes are all about Fig with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   My first Guerlain experience was this one, Patchouli Ardent (2020). The very first sniff is crisp Fig with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. That first spray gives a lovely Fig/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
