   Everyone keeps talking about Shalimar Eau de Cologne, so I finally gave it a proper test. The opening is built around Bergamot and Lemon — bright and immediately recognizable. The heart is the best part for me: Iris and Vetiver feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   For a 1925 release, Shalimar Eau de Cologne deserves more attention than it gets. The base rests on Vanilla and Leather — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Vanilla and Leather come through and give it real depth. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A friend passed me a decant of Shalimar Eau de Cologne (1925) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Iris and Vetiver feel carefully balanced. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Lemon, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Give it a little time and Iris with Vetiver comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Shalimar Eau de Cologne. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Leather and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Lemon, fresh and very easy to wear. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
