   I have owned Shalimar Eau de Parfum for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The very first sniff is crisp Citruses with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Iris and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I picked up Shalimar Eau de Parfum (1990) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Citruses with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Incense and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
