I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Drakkar Noir. That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Lemon impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Lavender and Lemon โ€” bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough โ€” it carries well without shouting. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

Everyone keeps talking about Drakkar Noir, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Juniper and Carnation feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Oakmoss and Pine Tree Needles come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

Everyone keeps talking about Drakkar Noir, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Juniper with Carnation, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Lavender with Lemon peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This one gets my highest praise โ€” beautiful from start to finish.

A decant of Drakkar Noir sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Juniper with Carnation, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Pine Tree Needles and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather โ€” in the heat it opens up nicely. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

I picked up Drakkar Noir (1982) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Lavender with a hint of Lemon โ€” it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Lavender alongside Lemon, fresh and very easy to wear. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

For a 1982 release, Drakkar Noir deserves more attention than it gets. That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Lemon impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Lavender and Lemon โ€” bright and immediately recognizable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

I keep reaching for Drakkar Noir more than I expected to. As it settles, Oakmoss and Pine Tree Needles come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Lemon impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

A couple of wears in, Drakkar Noir has really grown on me. That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Lemon impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Juniper and Carnation feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I would happily buy a full bottle.

My first Guy Laroche experience was this one, Drakkar Noir (1982). Give it a little time and Juniper with Carnation comes forward โ€” smooth and well done. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Pine Tree Needles and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Well done โ€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

Picked up a sample of Drakkar Noir after reading the community buzz (1982). The heart is the best part for me: Juniper and Carnation feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Oakmoss and Pine Tree Needles โ€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Well done โ€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

A friend passed me a decant of Drakkar Noir (1982) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Lavender with a hint of Lemon โ€” it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Lavender with Lemon peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
