   A couple of wears in, Eau D’Hermes has really grown on me. The first minutes are all about Bergamot with a hint of Lavender — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Bergamot with Lavender peeking through, very much my kind of start. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A friend passed me a decant of Eau D’Hermes (1951) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Leather and Birch come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Lavender, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   My first Hermès experience was this one, Eau D’Hermes (1951). The drydown leans on Leather plus Birch and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Leather and Birch come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Eau D’Hermes. The base rests on Leather and Birch — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Bergamot with Lavender peeking through, very much my kind of start. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
