   My first Histoires de Parfums experience was this one, 1826 (2001). The heart is the best part for me: Violet and White Flowers feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Violet with White Flowers comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about 1826. That first spray gives a lovely Tangerine/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. The first minutes are all about Tangerine with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I’ve been wearing 1826 on and off for a few weeks now (2001). The very first sniff is crisp Tangerine with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Tangerine alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
