   I picked up Oud for Greatness (2018) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Saffron with Nutmeg peeking through, very much my kind of start. That first spray gives a lovely Saffron/Nutmeg impression that dries down smoothly. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   Initio Parfums Prives knows how to compose, and Oud for Greatness (2018) is proof. The very first sniff is crisp Saffron with Nutmeg peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I keep reaching for Oud for Greatness more than I expected to. Right away I get mostly Saffron alongside Nutmeg, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Saffron with Nutmeg peeking through, very much my kind of start. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

Right away I get mostly Saffron alongside Nutmeg, fresh and very easy to wear. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   For a 2018 release, Oud for Greatness deserves more attention than it gets. The heart is the best part for me: Agarwood (Oud) feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Agarwood (Oud), which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
