   A friend passed me a decant of Sublime (1992) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Amber plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. That first spray gives a lovely Ylang-Ylang/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I keep reaching for Sublime more than I expected to. The base rests on Amber and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   My first Jean Patou experience was this one, Sublime (1992). As it settles, Amber and Musk come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Ylang-Ylang/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   For a 1992 release, Sublime deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Amber plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Ylang-Ylang with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

Give it a little time and Jasmine with Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I have owned Sublime for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Amber and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Give it a little time and Jasmine with Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   A decant of Sublime sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The opening is built around Ylang-Ylang and Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Ylang-Ylang alongside Mandarin Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
