   I picked up Sander for Men (2000) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Pepper and Cloves feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Pepper with Cloves comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   Picked up a sample of Sander for Men after reading the community buzz (2000). The opening is built around Ivy and Mint — bright and immediately recognizable. The very first sniff is crisp Ivy with Mint peeking through, very much my kind of start. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A friend passed me a decant of Sander for Men (2000) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Ivy and Mint — bright and immediately recognizable. As it settles, Cypress and Cedar come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. The composition is well made but not for me.

As it settles, Cypress and Cedar come through and give it real depth. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

The base rests on Cypress and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
