   A decant of Sensations sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. That first spray gives a lovely Nettle/Green Notes impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Nettle with Green Notes peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

The base rests on Tonka Bean and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

Give it a little time and Vanilla with Milk comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Everyone keeps talking about Sensations, so I finally gave it a proper test. The opening is built around Nettle and Green Notes — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Nettle alongside Green Notes, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   Jil Sander knows how to compose, and Sensations (2000) is proof. The base rests on Tonka Bean and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The first minutes are all about Nettle with a hint of Green Notes — it grabs attention without being pushy. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Vanilla with Milk, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.
