   Everyone keeps talking about Tokyo by, so I finally gave it a proper test. As it settles, Cedar and Guaiac Wood come through and give it real depth. The heart is the best part for me: Pink Pepper and Green Tea feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I picked up Tokyo by (2007) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Cedar and Guaiac Wood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Cedar plus Guaiac Wood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   Everyone keeps talking about Tokyo by, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Ginger alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Ginger with Grapefruit peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A friend passed me a decant of Tokyo by (2007) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Ginger with a hint of Grapefruit — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Ginger alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I’ve been wearing Tokyo by on and off for a few weeks now (2007). As it settles, Cedar and Guaiac Wood come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Ginger/Grapefruit impression that dries down smoothly. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I’ve been wearing Tokyo by on and off for a few weeks now (2007). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pink Pepper with Green Tea, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Pink Pepper and Green Tea feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.
