   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Donna. The very first sniff is crisp Lemon with Green Apple peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Green Apple — it grabs attention without being pushy. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   My first La Rive experience was this one, Donna. Right away I get mostly Lemon alongside Green Apple, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Lemon/Green Apple impression that dries down smoothly. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   A couple of wears in, Donna has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Musk plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Lemon alongside Green Apple, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Everyone keeps talking about Donna, so I finally gave it a proper test. The opening is built around Lemon and Green Apple — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Green Apple — it grabs attention without being pushy. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A decant of Donna sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Give it a little time and Jasmine with Lotus comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Lemon alongside Green Apple, fresh and very easy to wear. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   As far as recent releases go, Donna deserves more attention than it gets. As it settles, Musk and Cedar come through and give it real depth. The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Green Apple — it grabs attention without being pushy. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
