   A decant of Eternal Oud sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The opening is built around Plum and Grapefruit — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Plum alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I’ve been wearing Eternal Oud on and off for a few weeks now (2022). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Heliotrope with Orchid, which is where the fragrance really shines. Right away I get mostly Plum alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Lattafa Perfumes knows how to compose, and Eternal Oud (2022) is proof. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Grapefruit — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Plum and Grapefruit — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. The composition is well made but not for me.

   My first Lattafa Perfumes experience was this one, Eternal Oud (2022). The drydown leans on Amber plus Benzoin and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Plum alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   For a 2022 release, Eternal Oud deserves more attention than it gets. The very first sniff is crisp Plum with Grapefruit peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Grapefruit — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

Give it a little time and Heliotrope with Orchid comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
