   A couple of wears in, Patchouli 24 has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Patchouli — it grabs attention without being pushy. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   A friend passed me a decant of Patchouli 24 (2006) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Give it a little time and Birch with Styrax comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Vanilla come through and give it real depth. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I keep reaching for Patchouli 24 more than I expected to. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Birch with Styrax, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Birch with Styrax comes forward — smooth and well done. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Everyone keeps talking about Patchouli 24, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Patchouli, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
