   My first L’Erbolario experience was this one, Iris. That first spray gives a lovely Aldehydes/Ylang-Ylang impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Ylang-Ylang peeking through, very much my kind of start. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I have owned Iris for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of Ylang-Ylang — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Ylang-Ylang peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

Give it a little time and Iris with Hawthorn comes forward — smooth and well done. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I keep reaching for Iris more than I expected to. Right away I get mostly Aldehydes alongside Ylang-Ylang, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of Ylang-Ylang — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

The drydown leans on Sugar plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Hawthorn, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
