   I picked up Papavero Soave (2011) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Red Poppy and Artemisia feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Amber plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of Papavero Soave (2011) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Red Poppy and Artemisia feel carefully balanced. The very first sniff is crisp Prunella with Peach peeking through, very much my kind of start. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I have owned Papavero Soave for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Prunella alongside Peach, fresh and very easy to wear. Give it a little time and Red Poppy with Artemisia comes forward — smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I keep reaching for Papavero Soave more than I expected to. Give it a little time and Red Poppy with Artemisia comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Amber and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. The composition is well made but not for me.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Red Poppy with Artemisia, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Red Poppy and Artemisia feel carefully balanced. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Papavero Soave. Right away I get mostly Prunella alongside Peach, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Prunella with a hint of Peach — it grabs attention without being pushy. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

That first spray gives a lovely Prunella/Peach impression that dries down smoothly. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
