   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Eau des Baux. The very first sniff is crisp Cardamom with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Vanilla and Tonka Bean — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Eau des Baux on and off for a few weeks now (2006). The opening is built around Cardamom and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The heart is the best part for me: Cypress and Incense feel carefully balanced. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   L’Occitane en Provence knows how to compose, and Eau des Baux (2006) is proof. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cypress with Incense, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Tonka Bean and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I’ve been wearing Eau des Baux on and off for a few weeks now (2006). The first minutes are all about Cardamom with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. That first spray gives a lovely Cardamom/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A friend passed me a decant of Eau des Baux (2006) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Cardamom alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Vanilla and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
