   A friend passed me a decant of Solo Loewe (2004) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The base rests on Woodsy Notes and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Tangerine and Pink Pepper feel carefully balanced. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Solo Loewe. Right away I get mostly Mandarin Orange alongside Guava, fresh and very easy to wear. The opening is built around Mandarin Orange and Guava — bright and immediately recognizable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I keep reaching for Solo Loewe more than I expected to. The very first sniff is crisp Mandarin Orange with Guava peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Tangerine and Pink Pepper feel carefully balanced. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A decant of Solo Loewe sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. As it settles, Woodsy Notes and Amber come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tangerine with Pink Pepper, which is where the fragrance really shines. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I keep reaching for Solo Loewe more than I expected to. Give it a little time and Tangerine with Pink Pepper comes forward — smooth and well done. The opening is built around Mandarin Orange and Guava — bright and immediately recognizable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
