   Mancera knows how to compose, and Aoud Orchid (2016) is proof. The drydown leans on Woody Notes plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Woody Notes and Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Aoud Orchid on and off for a few weeks now (2016). The heart is the best part for me: Orchid and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Woody Notes plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   Mancera knows how to compose, and Aoud Orchid (2016) is proof. As it settles, Woody Notes and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orchid with Patchouli, which is where the fragrance really shines. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A couple of wears in, Aoud Orchid has really grown on me. Right away I get mostly Coconut alongside Peach, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Coconut/Peach impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

The drydown leans on Woody Notes plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The very first sniff is crisp Coconut with Peach peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
