   Mancera knows how to compose, and Black Gold (2017) is proof. The first minutes are all about Lavender with a hint of Cinnamon — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Lavender with Cinnamon peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I have owned Black Gold for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Lavender alongside Cinnamon, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I picked up Black Gold (2017) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Violet with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown leans on Leather plus Woody Notes and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   My first Mancera experience was this one, Black Gold (2017). The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Violet with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. The composition is well made but not for me.

   Picked up a sample of Black Gold after reading the community buzz (2017). That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Cinnamon impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Lavender alongside Cinnamon, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. The composition is well made but not for me.
