   I picked up Lola (2009) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Vanilla and Musk come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Pink Pepper alongside Pear, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I keep reaching for Lola more than I expected to. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Pink Pepper with Pear peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   A decant of Lola sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Pink Pepper with Pear peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Peony, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

The first minutes are all about Pink Pepper with a hint of Pear — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I would happily buy a full bottle.
