   My first Marc Jacobs experience was this one, Oh, Lola! (2011). Give it a little time and Peony with Magnolia comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown leans on Vanille plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I keep reaching for Oh, Lola! more than I expected to. The opening is built around Raspberry and Pear — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Raspberry alongside Pear, fresh and very easy to wear. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I have owned Oh, Lola! for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The very first sniff is crisp Raspberry with Pear peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Vanille and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I’ve been wearing Oh, Lola! on and off for a few weeks now (2011). The heart is the best part for me: Peony and Magnolia feel carefully balanced. That first spray gives a lovely Raspberry/Pear impression that dries down smoothly. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

The first minutes are all about Raspberry with a hint of Pear — it grabs attention without being pushy. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura.
