   Memo Paris knows how to compose, and Ilha do Mel (2015) is proof. The very first sniff is crisp Hyacinth with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Honey with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I picked up Ilha do Mel (2015) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Honey and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. The very first sniff is crisp Hyacinth with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The first minutes are all about Hyacinth with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Honey with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

    I’ve been wearing Ilha do Mel on and off for a few weeks now (2015). The very first sniff is crisp Hyacinth with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. The opening is built around Hyacinth and Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I would happily buy a full bottle.

The drydown leans on Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

The very first sniff is crisp Hyacinth with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
