   A couple of wears in, Russian Leather has really grown on me. Give it a little time and Pine Tree with Cypress comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pine Tree with Cypress, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I have owned Russian Leather for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Pine Tree with Cypress comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pine Tree with Cypress, which is where the fragrance really shines. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I picked up Russian Leather (2016) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I would happily buy a full bottle.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
