   A friend passed me a decant of Retrospect (2024) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Pear alongside Ambrette, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Ambrette — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Everyone keeps talking about Retrospect, so I finally gave it a proper test. The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Ambrette — it grabs attention without being pushy. Give it a little time and Orris with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Retrospect on and off for a few weeks now (2024). The base rests on Musk and Moss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Musk and Moss come through and give it real depth. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A friend passed me a decant of Retrospect (2024) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Musk plus Moss and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Musk and Moss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I picked up Retrospect (2024) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Musk and Moss come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Pear and Ambrette — bright and immediately recognizable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   My first Merit experience was this one, Retrospect (2024). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orris with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Orris with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Ambrette peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.
