   I’ve been wearing Vanilla Bourbon on and off for a few weeks now (2021). The opening is built around Black Pepper and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Madagascar Vanilla and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   A friend passed me a decant of Vanilla Bourbon (2021) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Black Pepper/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Black Pepper alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I keep reaching for Vanilla Bourbon more than I expected to. Right away I get mostly Black Pepper alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown leans on Madagascar Vanilla plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

Give it a little time and Vanilla Orchid with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The first minutes are all about Black Pepper with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

Give it a little time and Vanilla Orchid with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Vanilla Orchid with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I wanted to like it more than I did.

Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
