   I picked up Explorer Platinum (2023) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Violet Leaves impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Violet Leaves — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A couple of wears in, Explorer Platinum has really grown on me. Right away I get mostly Violet Leaves, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Violet Leaves — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   My first Montblanc experience was this one, Explorer Platinum (2023). The very first sniff is crisp Violet Leaves, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Clary Sage, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The heart is the best part for me: Clary Sage feel carefully balanced. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

    I have owned Explorer Platinum for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Violet Leaves, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Cedarwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
