   For a 2022 release, Legend Red deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Blood Orange alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cedar with Clary Sage, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Legend Red. The drydown leans on Atlas Cedar plus Mahogany and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Give it a little time and Cedar with Clary Sage comes forward — smooth and well done. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I picked up Legend Red (2022) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Blood Orange with Grapefruit peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Cedar and Clary Sage feel carefully balanced. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I wanted to like it more than I did.
