   A decant of Alien Eau Extraordinaire sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The base rests on White Amber and Cashmeran — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Give it a little time and Tiare Flower with Orange Blossom comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   My first Mugler experience was this one, Alien Eau Extraordinaire (2014). As it settles, White Amber and Cashmeran come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Bergamot and Tea — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   For a 2014 release, Alien Eau Extraordinaire deserves more attention than it gets. As it settles, White Amber and Cashmeran come through and give it real depth. The heart is the best part for me: Tiare Flower and Orange Blossom feel carefully balanced. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A friend passed me a decant of Alien Eau Extraordinaire (2014) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Tea, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Bergamot with a hint of Tea — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I’ve been wearing Alien Eau Extraordinaire on and off for a few weeks now (2014). As it settles, White Amber and Cashmeran come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Bergamot with Tea peeking through, very much my kind of start. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

Give it a little time and Tiare Flower with Orange Blossom comes forward — smooth and well done. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tiare Flower with Orange Blossom, which is where the fragrance really shines. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

I wanted to like it more than I did.
