   A friend passed me a decant of Afrika-Olifant (2015) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The very first sniff is crisp Myrhh with Ambergris peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Synthetic Civet and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I’ve been wearing Afrika-Olifant on and off for a few weeks now (2015). As it settles, Synthetic Civet and Musk come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Synthetic Civet plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Everyone keeps talking about Afrika-Olifant, so I finally gave it a proper test. That first spray gives a lovely Myrhh/Ambergris impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Castoreum with Civet, which is where the fragrance really shines. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   My first Nishane experience was this one, Afrika-Olifant (2015). The first minutes are all about Myrhh with a hint of Ambergris — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Myrhh alongside Ambergris, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   A decant of Afrika-Olifant sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: Castoreum and Civet feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Castoreum with Civet comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
