   My first Nishane experience was this one, Vain & Naïve (2018). The very first sniff is crisp Orange with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Sandalwood and Tonka Bean — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I have owned Vain & Naïve for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The first minutes are all about Orange with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Tonka Bean and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A couple of wears in, Vain & Naïve has really grown on me. As it settles, Sandalwood and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Orange and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I picked up Vain & Naïve (2018) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Sandalwood and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Orange with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
