   A friend passed me a decant of Zenne (2017) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Black Currant and Rhubarb — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Turkish Rose with Gardenia, which is where the fragrance really shines. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A decant of Zenne sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: Turkish Rose and Gardenia feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Turkish Rose with Gardenia comes forward — smooth and well done. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   My first Nishane experience was this one, Zenne (2017). The base rests on Vanilla and Ambergris — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Ambergris and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   Nishane knows how to compose, and Zenne (2017) is proof. The first minutes are all about Black Currant with a hint of Rhubarb — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Black Currant alongside Rhubarb, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

I would happily buy a full bottle.
