   A friend passed me a decant of Egeo (2002) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Vanille and Amber come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Vanille plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Egeo. The opening is built around Bergamot and Galbanum — bright and immediately recognizable. The heart is the best part for me: Lavender and Tonka Bean feel carefully balanced. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I keep reaching for Egeo more than I expected to. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Galbanum, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Bergamot with a hint of Galbanum — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

That first spray gives a lovely Bergamot/Galbanum impression that dries down smoothly. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   For a 2002 release, Egeo deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Vanille plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Vanille and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A decant of Egeo sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lavender with Tonka Bean, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Lavender and Tonka Bean feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
