   My first O Boticário experience was this one, Malbec Gold (2016). The opening is built around Apple and Black Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown leans on Amberwood plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I picked up Malbec Gold (2016) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Apple/Black Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Cinammon and Leather feel carefully balanced. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A couple of wears in, Malbec Gold has really grown on me. The heart is the best part for me: Cinammon and Leather feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Amberwood and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
