   I picked up Uomini (1996) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Lemon Tree with Galbanum peeking through, very much my kind of start. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   A couple of wears in, Uomini has really grown on me. The base rests on Oakmoss and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Basil with Thyme, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   For a 1996 release, Uomini deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Lemon Tree with a hint of Galbanum — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Lemon Tree with Galbanum peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Uomini. Give it a little time and Basil with Thyme comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Lemon Tree with Galbanum peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

The heart is the best part for me: Basil and Thyme feel carefully balanced. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Give it a little time and Basil with Thyme comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
