   Everyone keeps talking about Autoportrait, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Benzoin with Incense, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Benzoin and Incense feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Picked up a sample of Autoportrait after reading the community buzz (2011). The very first sniff is crisp elemi with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Benzoin with Incense, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   Everyone keeps talking about Autoportrait, so I finally gave it a proper test. Give it a little time and Benzoin with Incense comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly elemi alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   My first Olfactive Studio experience was this one, Autoportrait (2011). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Benzoin with Incense, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Virginia Cedar and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

The first minutes are all about elemi with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   Olfactive Studio knows how to compose, and Autoportrait (2011) is proof. The opening is built around elemi and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about elemi with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   My first Olfactive Studio experience was this one, Autoportrait (2011). The base rests on Virginia Cedar and Vetiver — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly elemi alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
