   A decant of Close Up sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: White Tobacco and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Tonka Bean and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A friend passed me a decant of Close Up (2016) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Tonka Bean and Amber come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Cherry and Spices — bright and immediately recognizable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Picked up a sample of Close Up after reading the community buzz (2016). Give it a little time and White Tobacco with Patchouli comes forward — smooth and well done. The opening is built around Cherry and Spices — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. The composition is well made but not for me.

   A couple of wears in, Close Up has really grown on me. Give it a little time and White Tobacco with Patchouli comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown leans on Tonka Bean plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Right away I get mostly Cherry alongside Spices, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Close Up. The very first sniff is crisp Cherry with Spices peeking through, very much my kind of start. The opening is built around Cherry and Spices — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I have owned Close Up for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The first minutes are all about Cherry with a hint of Spices — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Cherry alongside Spices, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
