   Picked up a sample of Amber Elixir after reading the community buzz (2009). The base rests on Amber and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Mandarin Orange with Grapes peeking through, very much my kind of start. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   For a 2009 release, Amber Elixir deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Almond with Heliotrope, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Almond with Heliotrope comes forward — smooth and well done. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   Oriflame knows how to compose, and Amber Elixir (2009) is proof. The base rests on Amber and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Amber Elixir. The opening is built around Mandarin Orange and Grapes — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Almond with Heliotrope, which is where the fragrance really shines. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   My first Oriflame experience was this one, Amber Elixir (2009). Right away I get mostly Mandarin Orange alongside Grapes, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Almond and Heliotrope feel carefully balanced. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The drydown leans on Amber plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
