   Ormonde Jayne knows how to compose, and Frangipani (2003) is proof. Give it a little time and Frangipani with Water Lily comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Lime with Lime (Linden) Blossom peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   For a 2003 release, Frangipani deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Lime alongside Lime (Linden) Blossom, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Frangipani with Water Lily, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A couple of wears in, Frangipani has really grown on me. The base rests on Musk and Madagascar Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Frangipani and Water Lily feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   I’ve been wearing Frangipani on and off for a few weeks now (2003). As it settles, Musk and Madagascar Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Musk plus Madagascar Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   I have owned Frangipani for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Lime alongside Lime (Linden) Blossom, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Frangipani with Water Lily, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

The composition is well made but not for me.

    Ormonde Jayne knows how to compose, and Frangipani (2003) is proof. That first spray gives a lovely Lime/Lime (Linden) Blossom impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Lime alongside Lime (Linden) Blossom, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
