   I have owned Aziyade for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Incense and Tobacco — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Incense plus Tobacco and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. The composition is well made but not for me.

   Parfum d’Empire knows how to compose, and Aziyade (2008) is proof. The base rests on Incense and Tobacco — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Caraway with Cinnamon, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Aziyade (2008) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Plum alongside Dates, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Dates — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

That first spray gives a lovely Plum/Dates impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

Right away I get mostly Plum alongside Dates, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
