   My first Parfums de Marly experience was this one, Galloway (2014). That first spray gives a lovely Citruses/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The base rests on Musk and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. The composition is well made but not for me.

   A couple of wears in, Galloway has really grown on me. The opening is built around Citruses and Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The heart is the best part for me: Orange Blossom and Iris feel carefully balanced. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Galloway. Give it a little time and Orange Blossom with Iris comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Musk and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. The composition is well made but not for me.

I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The very first sniff is crisp Citruses with Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. The composition is well made but not for me.

   I picked up Galloway (2014) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Citruses with a hint of Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Musk and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I’ve been wearing Galloway on and off for a few weeks now (2014). The base rests on Musk and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orange Blossom with Iris, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
