   My first Parfums de Marly experience was this one, Kalan (2019). Give it a little time and Lavender with Orange Blossom comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Lavender and Orange Blossom feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I’ve been wearing Kalan on and off for a few weeks now (2019). Give it a little time and Lavender with Orange Blossom comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lavender with Orange Blossom, which is where the fragrance really shines. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

That first spray gives a lovely Spices/Blood Orange impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

The opening is built around Spices and Blood Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

The very first sniff is crisp Spices with Blood Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A couple of wears in, Kalan has really grown on me. As it settles, Woody Notes and Moss come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Spices alongside Blood Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
