   Picked up a sample of Safanad after reading the community buzz (2013). The opening is built around Pear and Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Vanilla and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I keep reaching for Safanad more than I expected to. The base rests on Vanilla and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Vanilla and Amber come through and give it real depth. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   A friend passed me a decant of Safanad (2013) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I have owned Safanad for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Pear alongside Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. The opening is built around Pear and Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I picked up Safanad (2013) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Vanilla and Amber come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I wanted to like it more than I did.

   Everyone keeps talking about Safanad, so I finally gave it a proper test. That first spray gives a lovely Pear/Orange impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orange Blossom with Ylang-Ylang, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

The heart is the best part for me: Orange Blossom and Ylang-Ylang feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
