   I have owned Cairo for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The first minutes are all about Damask Rose with a hint of Saffron — it grabs attention without being pushy. That first spray gives a lovely Damask Rose/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Cairo. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Damask Rose and Saffron — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Picked up a sample of Cairo after reading the community buzz (2019). As it settles, Sandalwood and Patchouli come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Damask Rose and Saffron — bright and immediately recognizable. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   For a 2019 release, Cairo deserves more attention than it gets. That first spray gives a lovely Damask Rose/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Damask Rose alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I picked up Cairo (2019) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Vanilla with Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely Damask Rose/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

The opening is built around Damask Rose and Saffron — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

As it settles, Sandalwood and Patchouli come through and give it real depth. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   My first Penhaligon’s experience was this one, Cairo (2019). Right away I get mostly Damask Rose alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Vanilla and Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
