   My first Penhaligon’s experience was this one, Changing Constance (2018). The heart is the best part for me: Caramel and Salt feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Vanilla and Cashmeran come through and give it real depth. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Changing Constance. The first minutes are all about Cardamom with a hint of Pimento Seeds — it grabs attention without being pushy. The heart is the best part for me: Caramel and Salt feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

The heart is the best part for me: Caramel and Salt feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

The base rests on Vanilla and Cashmeran — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I’ve been wearing Changing Constance on and off for a few weeks now (2018). The very first sniff is crisp Cardamom with Pimento Seeds peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Caramel with Salt, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Cashmeran and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I wanted to like it more than I did.

    A couple of wears in, Changing Constance has really grown on me. Right away I get mostly Cardamom alongside Pimento Seeds, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Cardamom/Pimento Seeds impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
