   Everyone keeps talking about Cornubia, so I finally gave it a proper test. As it settles, Amber and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Amber plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of Cornubia (1910) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Neroli/Freesia impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown leans on Amber plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I keep reaching for Cornubia more than I expected to. The base rests on Amber and Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Neroli alongside Freesia, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

The very first sniff is crisp Neroli with Freesia peeking through, very much my kind of start. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   My first Penhaligon’s experience was this one, Cornubia (1910). The heart is the best part for me: Heliotrope and Orange Blossom feel carefully balanced. The opening is built around Neroli and Freesia — bright and immediately recognizable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
