   A decant of Ostara sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Benzoin and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Give it a little time and Narcissus with Hyacinth comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Picked up a sample of Ostara after reading the community buzz (2015). Give it a little time and Narcissus with Hyacinth comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Narcissus and Hyacinth feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   Penhaligon’s knows how to compose, and Ostara (2015) is proof. Right away I get mostly Green Leaves alongside Violet Leaf, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Narcissus with Hyacinth, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Penhaligon’s knows how to compose, and Ostara (2015) is proof. As it settles, Vanilla and Benzoin come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Green Leaves/Violet Leaf impression that dries down smoothly. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

Give it a little time and Narcissus with Hyacinth comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   I have owned Ostara for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Benzoin and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Green Leaves and Violet Leaf — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
