   A friend passed me a decant of Peoneve (2012) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Violet Leaf — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Peony with Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I have owned Peoneve for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The heart is the best part for me: Peony and Rose feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Peony with Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Picked up a sample of Peoneve after reading the community buzz (2012). The very first sniff is crisp Violet Leaf, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Violet Leaf, fresh and very easy to wear. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   A decant of Peoneve sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Give it a little time and Peony with Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. That first spray gives a lovely Violet Leaf impression that dries down smoothly. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
